雷燕，1970年入伍，2001年退役。1976年开始参加部队美术创作，1991年毕业于解放军艺术学院美术系，参加过全国及全军展览，中国美术家协会会员。2000年开始走向表达个人情感与身份的当代艺术。现从事以装置、摄影、绘画、软雕塑等形式为主的艺术创作。2007 瑞典歌德堡水彩博物馆访问艺术家，2009 年美国纽约OML艺术村进驻艺术家，现居住昆明。
Enlisted in 1970 and retired in 2001. In 1976, he began to participate in military art creation. In 1991, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the People's Liberation Army Art Academy. He has participated in national and military exhibitions and is a member of the Chinese Artists Association. In 2000, he began to move towards contemporary art that expresses personal emotion and identity. Now he is engaged in artistic creation mainly in the form of installation, photography, painting and soft sculpture. 2007 Visiting artist at the Watercolor Museum in Gothenburg, Sweden，In 2009, he became an artist of OML Art Village in New York, USA. Now lives in Kunming.
